well the first thing i'd ask are you using a wireless router and second is your wireless router broadcasting, because if its not then you cant see it
find the web Address to gain access to you router ( google it ) heres an example Netopia router uses 192.168.1.254 as a default when home page opens check that wireless is broadcasting as it may be off by default.
