Usb has malfunctioned

dear sir
my problem is that whenever i attach my nokia phone via usb pc displays a balloon message that one of the usb attached has malfunctioned and windows does not recognised it . even my card reader is not working . plz help me overcome this problem i ll be very thankfull to u

go to your control panel on your computer select system then hardware then device manager long list things on system will come up, go to universal serial bus control click on it now a list of usb will come up you can click on each one checking these are working if you find one is not try updating driver to see if this will fix problem
