You can expect the write speed from DVD to hard drive to slow down quite a bit as opposed to writing to a DVD disk from the hard drive. One thing you can do is zip the data on the DVD to a file on the hard drive and unzip it. That will speed things up immensely. Is this something you do quite often? Can you tell me how much ram you have and which type, ie DDR, DDR2, etc.
