Hello

In the manual it should state how to do a force reset on the device, but usually it works by holding down the reset button for 4 - 6 seconds. Remember that if you reset the device, you must re configure the router. Hope this can help you.

Best regards
Andrea

Forgot wi-fi password

if you have access to the wi-fi router, you can reset it to default password by pressing reset button on the router, this will revert it back to the factory settings, including router name and password, the password will be on the router itself.

Hi i need to khow that how chenge the password of

You will need to login to the router and change its configuration. Usually routers have a default IP address of 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1. You can access it through a web browser by typing in that IP address. The default login is usually user:admin password:admin.

Dir-601 D-Link stopping working with my hughes net, how can I get it working again?

Is your Hughes net modem working - check by connecting directly to it using a LAN cable. New check the LAN cable from our modem to the router - try a new cable. Reboot both devices.

Login in using your browser and go to WAN settings and
the wireless settings and set-up a wireless password/key. Remember the key because each device will now need it to connect. You can also turn OFF Broadcast SSID and your network name will not be shown on anyone's device. You must remember the network name when using this method.

When all else fails, The final solution is a factory reset of your router. You can do a factory reset by logging into the router using you browser. Go to the settings and perform a factory reset

If you forgot the router password, you ill have to do a factory reset by locating a small hold on the back of the router and insert the tip of of paper clip for about 10 seconds while the power is on. The router will be reset to out of box status and then you can set-up form scratch.

I want to use the wi-fi setting on my DS but I forgot my wepkey, how do I fix that?

- Find your WEP key for your Modem/Router, or reset it to default settings.

- If it's a Wireless Modem, the WEP pass phrase is generically on the side of the modem.

- There is a reset button on the back of most router's and modems. Press and hold that switch (with a pen or a paperclip) for 10-30 seconds to reset all the settings to factory default.

- To access the modem's administration page to re-enter a new go to;
- 192.168.2.1 (Modems)
- 192.168.0.1 (DLink Routers)
- 192.168.1.1 (Linksys Routers)
(For more information on your individual Modem/Router, Please view the manufacturer's website.)

II have the modem SL2-141 and I change the password and now I forgot it? How can I recover it or reset the password?

I believe the Siemens "SL2-141" is a wireless router (not a "modem"). So I assume you are looking to retrieve/reset the password for your router. (If that's not correct, please let me know.)

There are typically two separate passwords used with a router, and it's not clear which type you're referring to. Are you trying to access the web-based configuration page for the router (for which you need an administrator password)? Or are you trying to make a wireless connection to the Internet via the router (for which you need the wireless security key)?

You may be able to retrieve either password (or both). The administrator password would be stored in the computer that was used to configure the router. The security key should be in the computer which configured the router, as well as any computer which made a wireless connection to the router.

You may find it helpful to have the owner's manual available. (If you don't have that, you may download a copy at:

http://www.iad.cz/prez/ADSL_SL2-141_User_Manual.pdf

The web-based settings for the router should be accessible at this URL (for the computer connected to the router):
http://192.168.1.1
The default user name is "admin", and the default password is "admin" If you can access those settings, you should be able to view the security key, or to reset the key (see pp. 99-101).

Alternatively, if the passwords are stored, you should be able to retrieve them by installing some free software.

For the computer that configured the router, download and install this program:
RouterPassView by NirSoft
http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/router_password_recovery.html
http://www.softpedia.com/get/Network-Tools/Misc-Networking-Tools/RouterPassView.shtml

For a laptop that connected to the router, download and install this program:
WirelessKeyView
by NirSoft
http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/wireless_key.html

http://www.softpedia.com/get/Security/Decrypting-Decoding/WirelessKeyView.shtml

---------------------------------
Finally, if you are unable to retrieve the password(s) by the above methods, then you may need to reset the router to its factory default. Note that this will delete any settings you have made (including administrator password and security key). You would then need to reinstall and reconfigure the router, starting from scratch.

If you can access the web-based settings for the router, you may then reset the router to its default by following the onscreen guidance (see p. 102 of the manual). If you can't access the web-based settings, then you can still reset the router using the physical reset button (see p. 111).. (There should be a small pinhole on the rear of the unit - simply insert a small firm object and press firmly for 10-20 seconds.)

Need network security key or passphrase for my netgear DG834Gv4/DG834GBv4 !!! PLEASE( IP 192.168.0.1)

There is a login key for the router that can be accessed by opening the
address http://192.168.0.1 as described: after the login all settings inside the router can be changed.
Note: use a wired connection when going into the routers' ip address.

When you can not login with the default password, reset the device:

Restoring the Default Configuration and Password
This section explains how to restore the factory default configuration settings, changing the
router’s administration password to password and the IP address to 192.168.0.1. You can erase the
current configuration and restore factory defaults in two ways:
• Use the Erase function of the Web Configuration Manager.
• Press the WPS button and Wireless button on the side of the router simultaneously. You can
use this method for cases when the administration password or IP address is not known.

Resetting to Factory Default Settings
You can use this method for cases when the administration password or IP address is not known.
To restore the factory default configuration settings:
1. Press and hold the WPS button and the Wireless button on the side of the router until the Test
LED turns on (about 10 seconds).
2. Release the buttons and wait for the router to reboot.

WIRELESS SECURITY + PASSPHRASE
The wireless security is a network name for wireless connection called
SSID: the identification name of your router.
The passphrase is used for a secure password getting permission to have wireless data transfer from the router to the computer and vice versa. ( No internet connection so far: only Local Area Network [LAN] )

MODEM
Because the device is a router / ADSL modem you'r able to setup the
modem part for connection on a telephone line to the internet / Wide Area Network [WAN] .
You should use passwords from the Internet Service Provider [ ISP ] enter and save them in the modem section of the device.

How do i set a password to protect my wireless internet

Access the Router's page and go to Wireless configuration. You may assigned a WEP key that uses hexadecimal value (A-F, 0-9). So if someone attempts to access your Wireless network, they will prompt to enter a Wep key.
