As you have said you have cleared all the pictures form camera card. TO elaborate further, the card memory corresponds to External memory. As you have specified you are getting internal memory full. To resolve this. Remove the card from your camera. Turn on your camera and then go to display. you will select the option to diplay from internal memory. Check if there are any pics in this. Move all the pics to Desktop or Laptop. And then clear all the internal memory by deleting these pics.
Hope this will resolve your problem.
Please do respond if you need more information on this.
Take out memory card from camera, format internal memory to delete all pictures at once or delete them one by one. Once memory card is inserted in camera, internal memory is no longer available to store/ delete pictures so remove memory card from camera to get access to internal memory.

My C743 keeps using up batteries. even new ones will be dead next day without even a picture being taken, I put a thin card between the battery cover and batteries and this has prevented battery drain but even lately I can not get camera to work with new batteries right after installation.

Kodak C-743 will not power up quickly. Sometimes requires several cycles of on/off knob to start camera. "New" battery solves problem for a few minute, but then requires you to rapidly rotate control knob to get camera to cycle on.
