Question about Maxtor OneTouch II 300 GB Hard Drive

1 Answer

I dropped my Maxtor OneTouch II 300 GB from about a two feet height on carpet. Now there is this noise coming from it everytime I turn it on and it is not being recognized in the computer. Any solutions?

Well more that likely you disloged something in the case bu dropping it. What you need to do is open it up and see what has gone slack or disloged.. Its shoulden't require any replacement parts really as i dont think anything whould have been broken.

what you need to do it

open it in a clean enviornment which has little to no dust
and be careful not to break anything or soil anything while its opened

Have you tried right clicking on the drive and going into properties. Click on security option and make sure that all the permissions for the drive are active with the exception of special permissions. Also look at the advanced security settings and make sure that you have full control permissions. Hope this helps.
