Leveling-Samsung RF265AA The manual only addresses leveling the doors. How do you level the unit? Also, the unit rolls to freely forward when opening the lower freezer. Is there a wheel lock or something similar?

Adjust bolts until rollers are touching floor. Grab the unit low and on the outsides of both doors. It should then roll out fairly easily.

SOURCE: Refrigerator Leveling Problem

Buy an inexpensive spirit level ( regular level sold everywhere) and check the level for yourself.. If you push/pull on the fridge..does it rock at all.. if so.. it may be level but the adjustable feet aren't making contact sufficiently to keep it from moving.. If after you've verified it is level.. you can do a few diagnostics on your own.. you can try removing everything on the door inside.. then listen for that noise.. if still there.. remove shelves and food etc.. see if it is still there.. check the snap on grill at the bottom to make sure it is secure.. check the hinges on the doors and make sure everything is snug.. make sure ther isn't anything on top of the fridge that might be vibrating when the fridge cycles.. You have many options here.. Hope this helps..

Hi, Remove the front kick plate and locate the adjustment screws in front corners. Usually 3/8" or 5/16" head bolts.
Realize, there is only so much adjustment. You might have to level the back side with thin boards or shims.
I hope this helps. Please let me know if I can assist you further.

SOURCE: where are the leveling wheels located

The wheels located in the back of the unit cannot be adjusted and the front ones can be accessed under the doors by pulling off the grill assembly. Use the screw going thru the cabinet on each side to adjust the front two wheels. Hope this helps.

How to make the freezer door on a kenmore elite 74033 tilt

Refrig of the year: Kenmore Elite 74033 Refrigerator
Consumer Reports Rated: Excellent

Hello Charles,

Just when I'm thinking Sears SERVICE is NOT some sort
of sad/bad joke... you put in a Kenmore Elite Model number...

continued search found your Owners Manual... Pages 10 & 16 are what you want

The front should be slightly higher than the rear to aid in door closing... (page 10)

Your refrigerator has two front leveling legs-one on the right and one on the left. Adjust the legs to alter the tilt from front-to-back or side-to-side. If your refrigerator seems unsteady, or you want the doors to close more easily, adjust the refrigerator's tilt using the instructions below: NOTE: Tools Required: 11/16" wrench or flat blade screwdriver.
1. Turn the leveling leg to the left to raise that side of the refrigerator or to the right to lower it. It may take several turns of the leveling leg to adjust the tilt of the refrigerator.
NOTE: Having someone push backward against the top of the refrigerator takes some weight off of the leveling legs. This makes it easier to adjust the legs.
2. Open both doors again and check to make sure that they close easily. If the doors do not close easily, tilt the refrigerator slightly more to the rear by turning both leveling legs to the left. It may take several more turns, and you should turn both leveling legs the same amount... (page 16)

`` After that...

All you have to do to maximize that efficiency is keep the closure area free of pizza boxes, ice cubes or errant frozen food bags.

Hope this was helpful...

First thing to check is to make sure there are no food items extending beyond shelves in ref compartment as well as door shelves. Door gaskets rolling under will cause it as well and may need to be replaced. sxs may have a broken door closure on bottom hinge or a bent door stop on all models can interfere with door closing properly. Check at bottom for interior panel rubbing interior cabinent liner and usually can be corrected with door hinge adjustment or additional bearings added to lower hinge to raise door a bit.

Is the refrigerator level?

Many times I come across people and installers that actually use a level on the top of the refrigerator to see if it is level.

What refrigerator leveling means is to adjust the legs or wheels in such a manner that it of course does not rock but that it is tilted back far enough that the doors when empty, held 1 inch open, then released, close without any other effort than releasing the handle. If your doors do not close in this manner than your unit is not refrigerator leveled.

Now there are exceptions to this rule but the exception is a very small difference in the amount of inches you hold a side by side open. And I will explain why. Most side by side refrigerators have whats called a door cam. It actually lifts the door at the bottom as you open it and then it falls shut. Tilting it back is not as important as doors that do not have lifting cams.

Also check your doors every six months and what you will be looking for is if the door lifts as you open it, is it square with the frame of the unit and the other door and are the cams and hinges well lubricated. Side by sides tend to wear door cams where the other types do not wear as fast.

You would be amazed at how many problems you can avoid just by understanding leveling and checking your doors once in a while.

I am sure this will help someone.

How can I adjust the height?

I always Google such things first, you would be surprised what you will find. Generally, you have to remove anything that might spill from inside, get anything off the top, roll it away from the wall and tip it back to see how it works. It may be simple feet screwed into the base, or some way to raise the wheels. Since these units usually roll, I expect the latter.

Bosch fridge with freezer on top, when closing fridge door freezer door pops open and does not shut by its self, what adjustments can be made?

The front of the unit needs to be raised so that there is a slight slope from front to back. This can be accomplished by turning the front leveling legs counter clockwise.

Refrigoator door does not vacuum seal tight like it used to when new. Door barely stays closed on gasket.

What I hears sounds as if the refrigerator needs re-leveling. Here are some basic things to do as in this video. Every refrigerator is not always the same but the idea is to cause the doors to shut inward if you should be standing in the front and let both doors loose from your hands the doors should shut inward and firmly if not over adjusted in the final steps. Your model is a nice large model! Here is what one user manual mentioned below.

NOTE: Custom or full-overlay door panels must be installed

before leveling.

1. Open the door and place the level on top of the refrigerator

frame as shown. Check to see whether the refrigerator is level

from left to right.

2. Use the leveling bolts to adjust the leveling legs until the

refrigerator is level from left to right.

3. Place the level(s) on shelf or shelves. Check to see whether

the refrigerator is level from front to back.

4. Use the leveling bolts to adjust the leveling legs until the

refrigerator is level from front to back.

5. Be sure that all four leveling legs contact the floor and

support the full weight of the refrigerator.

6. Make final check to ensure the refrigerator is level.

Adjust Door Swing

1. Check that the refrigerator door can open freely. If the door

opens too wide or you are installing full-overlay custom

panels using a Trimless Trim Kit, you should adjust the door

2. Remove the door stop screw from the bottom hinge.

3. Hold the door open to a position that is less than 90°.

4. Replace the door stop screw in the bottom hinge and tighten.

NOTE: If you are using full-overlay custom panels with the

Trimless Trim Kit, the door stop should be replaced in either

the 90° or 110° position. See "Handle and Door Clearances

for Custom Panel Series."

Install Side Panel

If the built-in area depth is 25" (63.5 cm) or more, the side panels

can be installed inside the side trim or attached to the outside of

the side trim.

IMPORTANT: Thermador is not responsible for the removal or

addition of molding or decorative panels that would not allow

access to the refrigerator for service.

1. For the inside side trim piece, slide the front edge of the

routed side panel into the trim piece.

2. Nail the rear edge of the panel to the support board.

A. Level to check left to right leveling

B. Level to check front to back leveling

A. Rear leveling bolt

B. Front leveling bolt

A. Door Stop in 130° position

B. 110° position

C. 90° position

I shut my refrigerator doors and a noise is made in the top back happens...I open the doors and the sound disappears. What should I do

Try to set the level of the fridge. Using a bubble level on top, adjust the front feet up/down to level it. When the doors open, weight is to the front and may help with an internal fan blade position.

Our GE upright freezer door keeps opening on its own! Our food is starting to melt and the manual only talks about tightening the refrigerator door. What should i do?

Your refrigerator is leaning forward to far and you need to adjust the front legs so that it is slightly leaning back. This is why the doors are opening as they work by gravity. On the bottom left and right front corners of your refrigerator you should round pads with threaded legs screwed it the bottom of your refrigerator. You need to lean the unit back and adjust these out to raise the front of your refrigerator until the doors when opened will slowly shut on its own. A level comes in handy for leveling also.
