The sound only works when the screen is in a certain position

The screen is faulty or you've not put the screen cable clip in properly.

sounds like the ignition switch has an internal problem and requires changing.

Can you see whats on the screen when you angle it in certain positions? What I mean... is it just the screens back light that isnt working or is the screen showing nothing?

This sounds like the cable from the motherboard to the screen.

Sounds like a wire broke inside. That's why it only works when you have it in a certain position. Unless you are good at splicing wires, move the wire till you get it to work, and wrap it in that position, then don't move it at all. Good Luck.

Sounds like you are in for a screen replacement which is probably more costly than buying a new laptop.

An alternative is to use a desktop monitor and forget the laptop screen.

What has most likly happened in this case, is that either:
a) the wire has been tampered with, and has caused the left speaker to cut out,
b)the speaker settings are set to only play sound through the right speaker.
I recommend you see the bottom right of the computer screen, and look for the speaker icon. Right click the icon, and then select 'open volume control'. After doing this, make sure that all of the 'balance' bars(located at the top of 'volume control') are in the centre, and not at either side.
If this doesn't help, then I'm afraid you can only really purchase a new set of speakers, or have a fiddle with the wire, and see if there is a certain position or place the wire can be which makes both speakers work. If there is, tape the wire in a place/position which works.

This sounds like you have a short in the LCD ribbon cable and it will need replacing, in most cases you will have to replace the screen but if you can find the exact ribbon cable, replacing should do the trick.

Sounds like the power jack is loose if you have to hold it in a certain position. As for the screen your inverter might be shot. Try connecting an external monitor to your laptop and see if you get a display.
