Re: Neil trying to get on the wii shopping channel!
You may receive this error while attempting to link your MyNintendo
account to the Wii Store. This comes as a result of non-alphanumeric
characters in either your login name or password. To work around this
problem, simply remove these characters, apply the changes to your
MyNintendo account, and try again. (vie email, thanks Robert)

Error code 209826. Is this with a Wii? Error code references "Problem connecting to the Wii Shop channel. Either a problem with the router or the Wii Shop may be temporarily
down. Try again later."
I recommend turning off the Wii completely. Check the wireless router and unplug the router, but do not disconnect the cable. Keep powered off for 5 minutes. Plug router back in, let all the lights power up and then turn the Wii on and attempt to connect again. Should the issue continue, you may need to go through the Wii network set up and verify that it is communicating with the router.
Error Code: 204038
The Wii console was unable to connect to the Wii Shop Channel.
Check for wireless interference, which can affect the signal strength to the Wii console. To help minimize wireless interference, try the following:
Make sure other wireless devices such as cordless phones or wireless speakers are turned off, and that the Wii console is an open area without objects or electronics blocking the signal. (For instance, if the Wii is placed in a crowded entertainment center, try moving the Wii somewhere with more room.)
Change your router's channel setting to 1 or 11. By default, most routers broadcast on channel 6, which overlaps with other channels and may be weaker. For help doing this, click here and select your router brand and model (if available). The information you need is found in the "Broadcast Channel:" area.
There could be a temporary network issue with Nintendo's servers. Please wait a few hours and try to access the Internet Channel again.
If the above steps did not resolve your issue, please call 1-800-255-3700 for assistance.
Go into the Wii Menu (Wii icon on the main menu screen.
Select "Wii Settings," then "Internet," and "Connection Settings."
Erase your existing Internet Connection Settings and set up a new connection. (Click here for help)
Once you have established and tested a successful connection test, try the connection to the Wii Shop again.
If you have verified that your Wii console's internet connection is working, then there could be a temporary issue with the Wii Shop Channel. Please wait awhile and your connection again.
If you have tried the above troubleshooting and are still receiving this error code, please call us 1-800-255-3700 so that they may assist you further.
