my dvd/rw burner now acts as it is an dvd ram drive, when i put in a blank dvd to burn it says it it is a cd, have formated computer with full new install and even bought a new dvd/rw with same problem

Any ideas

one possible way of solve this problem is remove ur nero and install latest version of nero........... if this option is not fix the problem means defenetly that is lense problem.. so give one service to ur drive u will get the solution........ okeeeeeeee........... bye......!!!!!!!!!!!!!
