The camera does not support low level format, so the pictures may still be on the card.

To _TRY_ to restore your images, get a USB SD-card reader (they are pretty cheap), and try a utility that restores files on memory cards, such as VaioSoft Recovery Manager 1.5

I have a memory card but i cannot take any pictures because it is keep saying that my card is full... but i have no images or videos. I accidentally deleted the whole file on my memory card and thats when...

To correct this, you'll need to format the card in your camera using the camera's format feature. Go to the tools menu, and select the item showing the card's capacity. It will then ask you if you want to format the card. Select yes, making sure that "Low Level Format" is also checked. This WILL ALSO ERASE THE CARD! So format only after you've saved your photos to your computer.

Canon SD800 IS only lets me take 7 pictures and says memory card full. It just started doing this after I used the video camera function. Any recommendations?

well, from your statements i am able to understand that you used your camera to take videos first. if you have taken videos for a long time e.g more than 45 min, then the free space might have reduced. try copying all the files from the memory card to your computer and format it. change the settings of cam to photo mode and now try. generally a 1 gb memory card can accumulate a video file of about 1 hr only, if its taken in a HD format with high resolution.

I have a ixus 700. I was trying to make more space for pics and I went to format and checked "low level format" and clicked ok. Afterwards I couldn't find my pics. Were they saved somewhere or did i lose...

Normally I'd be optimistic, except that you selected the worst case of low-level format. You can try the following freeware programs, but recommend starting with PC Inspector Smart Recovery, and let it run all night in intensive recovery mode:

You will need to use a flash card reader with this software. If you don't have one, get one, they're cheap:

Lost pictures?

I'm sorry to say that the card is erased. A format is a complete erase of the memory card.
However, your pictures aren't necessarily lost. First of all, make sure you don't use the memory card in the camera. As long as you haven't taken any new pictures on the card, you should be able to recover your pictures.
Next, you will need a USB memory card reader that accepts your type of memory card.
Connect the card reader to the PC, then insert the memory card in the memory card reader. Then download this program: http://www.datarescue.com/photorescue/download.htm
This is a program for recovering lost pictures from formatted memory cards. It's a free trial version, that will show you the photos that can be recovered. To do the actual recovery, you will have to buy the program for $29.
I hope this helps you! Let me know if I can provide more help.
Regards,
/Chris

Camera Displaying Incompatible JPEG File

Sounds like the card has become corrupted. Did you format it in your camera when you first got it? If not, what you're experiencing eventually happens. Take no more pics until you've recovered any photos that you may be missing, take the card out of the camera. Here's some freeware photo recovery software that should be what you're looking for:

http://camerarepair.blogspot.com/2007/12/recovering-those-accidentally-lost.html

You will need to use a flash card reader with this software. If you don't have one, get one, they're cheap:

http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=sr_st?keywords=card+reader&rs=172282&page=1&rh=n%3A172282%2Ck%3Acard+reader&sort=price

Finally AFTER you've recovered your photos, recommend formatting your card in your camera. Look in the "tools" menu for the selection that shows your card's memory capacity, and select it. Then follow the prompts to format the card. Select "Low Level" format if asked. Note that THIS WILL ERASE YOUR CARD, so again make sure that you have first backed up your photos on your computer.

Pictures gone!

Take no more pics until you've recovered the photos, take the card out of the camera. Here's some freeware photo recovery software that should be what you're looking for. Recommend the last program listed on this page:

http://camerarepair.blogspot.com/2007/12/recovering-those-accidentally-lost.html

You will need to use a flash card reader with this software. If you don't have one, get one, they're cheap:

After you've recovered the photos and backed them up on your computer, recommend formatting the card in your camera (note that this will erase all photos on your card). Look for the "Low Level" format option in your camera's menus. A low level format should help prevent this from happening again.

My memory card is full but my camera reads "no images."

Don't fret, your images are probably still there. But take no more pics until you've recovered the photos, take the card out of the camera. Here's some freeware photo recovery software that should be what you're looking for:

http://camerarepair.blogspot.com/2007/12/recovering-those-accidentally-lost.html

You will need to use a flash card reader with this software. If you don't have one, get one, they're cheap:

http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=sr_st?keywords=card+reader&rs=172282&page=1&rh=n%3A172282%2Ck%3Acard+reader&sort=price

And finally, after (and only after) you recover your images, format your card. This should refreshen your card to be usable again. Format it in the camera, using a "Full" or "Low Level" format, and NOT a "Quick" format. Keep in mind that the photos will no longer be recoverable after doing the Full or Low Level format.

Defective memory card?

usually cameras will only come with a small amount of memory either built into the camera, or a small memory card.

its not uncommon to have only 4-10 pictures on this type of starter memory.

To get more photos you will have to purchase a larger memory card.

Lower level format problem

Unfortunately, there is little you can do since low level formatting just as same as formatting a hard drive on a computer. There is one way that I know of called data recovery/forensics but this service is extremely expensive. A forensic program called "EnCase" will read any data on the card but the data may be corrupted to the point where there won't be anything of use.
