- I did that and it works on all other computers at home. My laptop is a new Dell Inspirion 17 with Vista Premium. When I check available netrworks it is there but it tells me I am unable to connect because my security is not set to be compatable? When I check properties I get a drop down menu with a bunch of different possible setting. I'm assuming WPA Personal is the right one and I can enter the password but it still is unable to connect. All other computers at home are working on this wireless router???

- I called D-link support who told me they could fix the problem for a fee which I paid. $33 was a rip off for what took all of 5 minutes. They had me go to control panel then wireless net work connections delete the D-link, close out, go back to find network connections and reconnect to D-link and it worked.
Just reset the router by pushing the reset button on the back and holding it down until all lights turn off and come back on. Everything will be reset and you will need to reenter your settings to make it secure. Login and password will be: admin

- This sounds like a problem with the firewall settings. Something is blocking you from connecting to the internet. It is not your hardware because you obviously can see the signal on the network box. Therefore if all of your other computers are reading and connecting, it is a problem with the software. Turn off your firewall and try connecting to the net. If that works then turn your firewall back on and go into the Control Panel and change your firewall settings to accept outgoing and incoming internet connections. This will let you connect. Try it and we'll go from there.
