You should be able to just put the code in using the preset buttons.

Radio code for 2001 galant.serial is 09254075.part is 472956

More than likely, you need to go to the dealer. Anti-theft features in radios prevent usage in other vehicles in models after 2000. If you go to a junkyard, you may be able to find and older one to put in and by-pass needing the code. Better yet, Crutchfield sells great aftermarket radio/cds for most any car and has the trim panels to make it appear like a professional install.

Stereo wont come on

It's probably not a fuse problem. If you got a new battery or your battery went dead or was unhooked, that will make the Galant radio reset and quit working. You have to contact your dealer (or any Mitsubishi dealer) and get the radio code for that car from them. If they don't know you or have you on file as the buyer, you'll have to prove you're the owner. (It's an anti-theft device.) Then you put in the code they give you and the radio works!

There are too many to try. But if you go to a dealer of that brand of radio, they will reset it for free.

2000 Mitsubishi Galant - My radio is asking for a code.

Once your code is input, press either the am/fm, CD, or Tape button to activate the radio (different models use different buttons to 'enter' the code).

More information needed about your horn, does it just randomly honk?

I need a radio code for a 2000 mitsubishi galant

Carefully take the front panel off that surrounds the radio and temperature buttons, it will snap straight out. Wiggle the radio out about two inches, it is a tight fit. Get the serial number off the radio. It is on a sticker on the top, left side. Call a Mitsubishi dealer with the serial number. They will want proof of ownership, so have the title ready. After putting in the four digit serial number, hit the cd button and that enters it.
The code is also written on an antitheft card that comes with the car and may be written in the owners manual in one of the back pages.
