Connection When I go into a site such as Sears for example, and I click on outlet, my screen eventually says "cannot display webpage". I then click back, then outlet again, and it comes right up. This also happens to the e-mail and most everything else. My ISP provider seems to think it is my router, as the high speed lite is working fine. Hope you can help me.

Thanks for such a prompt reply. Will try the update, as the router has been in operation for about a year. Thanks again.

Your first test should be to bypass the router and connect the computer that is having the problem directly into your ISP's modem. If the problem goes away then there are three possibilites:

1. The router is configured incorrectly.

2. The router needs a firmware update.

3. The router is defective.

  • 2 Display the webpage to be copied, then click the "Edit" tab at the top of the Internet Explorer screen.
  • 3 Click "Select All" to highlight the entire contents of the webpage, then click the right-hand mouse button and select "Copy" from the drop-down menu. This copies the entire webpage to a temporary memory clipboard.

HTTP Error 403 is an error message which means that you are not authorized to view the web page which you are attempting to load. Usually, the HTTP error 403 - Forbidden means that access to the file/folder you are trying to open has been denied, either on intention or owing to a configuration anomaly. You could attempt using a proxy website if the access is blocked intentionally.

Internet exp message cannot display the webpage - my internet is connected

If you can see other web sites and it's just that one particular site you are having a problem with then it is most likely a fault of the site.
"cannot display webpage" is usually a sign that the site is either having data base problems or has exceded its bandwidth.
If you simply cannot get to the site then it maybe a problem with your security settings being set too high and Internet Explorer is blocking the site.
