Hello the plug on my tv was damaged when moving home recently, when i took a look at the plug there was a a small wounded coil which i thought was a transformer or a filter, i called a repair guy and he told me that i could fit a normal plug, which i did but now there is a loud noise coming from the tv,like a component if running to high.I live in England so the tv is running off a 240v supply.
Thanks Brad
HI Brad,
I wonder if the coil was on the cord for the power or in the tv circuit board. I would definally suggest you replace the part with the correct part as I'm certain the engineer that designed the set wouldn't have designed it with a coil if it wasn't needed. I do have lots of used parts from junk sets if I knew what yours was exactally, I would be happy to send you one for the price of the freight. Let me know if I can help.
