Well, it's not too hard to find out if your PC has Hi-Speed (USB 2.0) or not. Right-click "MyComputer" (or, in Vista click Start and right-click on "Computer"), select "Properties" (or from Control Panel go to "System") then select the "Hardware" tab. Locate and expand the Universal Serial Bus section.
If it shows an "Enhanced" USB Host Controller, then you have USB 2.0 capability. If not, then you have the slower USB 1.0 or 1.1
If you cannot install a device driver to upgrade to USB 2.0 then most likely you need you upgrade the BIOS firmware, check the ASUS WEB site to see if this is possible for your model motherboard.
Good day sir/maam to setup USB 2.0, you must first enable it on the CMOS/BIOS setup. depending on the BIOS, go to advance then usb configuration, enable usb 2.0 then save. On windows XP USB 2.0 is automatically set. if not use the CD that comes with the motherboard. run the INF setup.
