Belkin router stops at randon points through large downloads e.g Itunes updates, this happens for all PC's whether they are connected through wireless or ethernet, I have no problems downloading the same files if I take the router out of the loop.
I have updated all software and firmware with Belkin support but still the problem continues.

This is not a great router. It might work for various smaller tasks but if you want to do heavy duty downloads with it it's not going to cut the mustard. This is not an uncommon problem with home level routers. I would recommend going on newegg and reading reviews before you buy a new one. broadbandreports is also a good forum for reviews. Good luck.
