Re: speed dial

I have recently got an O2 PAYG phone, and the speed dial was deactivated by manufacturer....apparently not so if on contract. I bough a CD/disc to restore factory settings, and now have speed dial!

Re: speed dial

If you are with O2 it seems that you can't change your options for Speed dial. I have just deleted those that it had pre set and entered in the numbers I want as speed dial first. It is annoying as you have to write down all the numbers on paper and re enter them, but seems the only solution. It allocates them based on sim position numbers.

Re: speed dial

You've to go in:
"Menu - Phonebook - Speed dial"
and then you've to click on "Options - Change - Contact".
Now you choose the contact from your contact list.
I hope you'll find how to do. Bye, Mirella

I can't remember how to assign a speedial #

Thanks for visiting FixYa!

Speed dial numbers are assigned when you first enter a name and phone number for someone in 'Contacts'. To edit the speed dial number, go to Contacts > (Select the Name of the person you want to change the speeddial # for) > select, Edit > and choose a speed dial number not already assigned. Remember Speeddial #1 is reserved for your voice mail.

If you need more specific directions, please submit another question and include the Make and Model number of your phone.

How do I program speed dial?

Now the process is different for different phones... What i'll do is write generealized steps here If these don't work then just tell me the exact make of your phone and i'll direct you properly.
SOLUTION 1: Go to menu-->contacts. Scroll down till you find an option that says speed dial. If it doesn't exist then go to options (usually the left or right select key; top-left or top-right key) and search for speed dial. Solution 1 should mostly work for you.
SOLUTION 2: On your home screen just dial any number (except 1 and 0). Now press the top-left key. An option that says assign should appear. You'll want to try both the keys (left and right) individually.
Either of these methods should work. If not give me the brand and model name and i'll direct you.
Further if solution 1 works you'll come to a screen which has digits from 1 - 9. Go to any digit and select it. You can assign one number to any contact from your phonebook. Assign how many ever you want and then use options--> save and you're done.
Just go to the main screen now and press any number and call. It'll call that perso instantly,

Speed dialing

which model ?
generally in all cell phones v will be have speed dialing option in range costing handset also... v can set the 9 speed dialing numbers .... in which 1 speed dialing number is common that is sos(112) in samsung and motorola handsets ... common thing is may be in sony ericson also i m not sure ... in nokia handsets if we make the speed dialing option on then if we just press one number means we can call to the person ...
for ex: you may be having some person whom u will call frequently instead of selecting the number by going to phonebook if you put that number to speed dialing list means you can call them by pressing only one button...( while adding to the speed dialing list it will ask to assign the keys like 1,2,3... 9)
as every handset keypad will be having 0-9 number keys this is very useful ...
in some handsets the speed dialing option is found in phonebook & while in other it will be found in call options...

Setting up a speed dial

from the website:

How do I set speed dial for one of my contacts? First, find the contact in your Contact List, highlight it, and press OK. Then select Options -> Speed Dialing and press OK.

Choose one of the numbers from the list and select Assign to assign it to your contact. You can now use 1-Touch Dialing for that phone number. Just press and hold that assigned one or two digit number instead of dialing the contact's entire phone number.

Speed dial not working

I have done it. I have found a way to chance the speed dial settings on my Samsung D900i.
The following instructions work for my phone but I cannot guarantee they will work for everyone else.
Press Menu > select Phonebook > Speed dial (4) >Select
You should see names assigned to the numbers.
Decide which speed dial number you want to change e.g. 2 Mum Mobile (remember the name)
Press Back > Contact list (1) Select
Type in/go down to that name e.g. Mum Mobile (WRITE DOWN PHONE NUMBER BECAUSE YOU ARE ABOUT TO DELETE IT)
Press Options > Delete (5) > Select > choose Yes > Back > Speed dial (4)
You should now see that Mum Mobile has been replaced with a big number 2. This means that speed dial number 2 is un-assigned.
Press Back > Contact list (1) > Select
Decide who you want to be assigned to speed dial 2 (WRITE DOWN PHONE NUMBER BECAUSE YOU ARE ABOUT TO DELETE IT)
Press Options > Delete (5) > Select > Yes (HERE IS THE WEIRD THING)
Press Back > Create contact (2) > SIM (2) >Select
Type back in the name and number of person you have just deleted > Save > Back > Speed dial (4)
You should see that Speed dial 2 is now the person of your choice.
HOW COOL IS THAT!!!!!!!!!!
Press Back > Create Contact (2) > Select > SIM (2) > Select
Type in Mum Mobile and Number (THE FIRST NUMBER YOU WROTE DOWN) > Save.
That is it, repeat the instructions until you have all the speed dials of your choice.
Hope this helps the many frustrated D900i users out there.
