Question about Jolly Giant QWS3270 Plus (qws3270maint) for PC

Error ws 05a8 connection failed

We are trying to connect to a mainframe from our pc home to support oncall. we are getting error WS 05A8 , connection failed trying to connect to host 127.0.0. 1 at port 10023. We tried everything :
turning off the firewall, checking router settings, turning off pop up , reinstalling the software, making sure that we have the right setting in advance tab of tools in interntet explorer.We don't know where else to look. May be we have a wrong java application ??

I downloaded Connectify to share a Clear mobile connection on my laptop with my pc and Kindle. The PC sees the Connectify network and validates, but no IP address is assigned and so there is no network...

you dont say what windows version you have? have you tried creating a network bridge between the phone connection and your wireless ,as you also dont say how you have the mobile connected either, then enable internet sharing on the computer.

I get an error message------The wireless device reported an error while starting the hotspot. Please try reconnecting/reenabling your wireless device or reboot and try again. I was able to use connectify...

try to go in Control panel->Network and Sharing Center->Change adapter settings and disable "wireless newtork connection". then try start your hotspot from conectify. this worked for me.

As such, it provides technical support to registered users of its (originally "Queens university Windows Sockets") software.
Contact them for support.
Also, connect the System Administrators of '', to ensure that their computer is still accepting TELNET/3270 connections from your IP-address.

$ symbol not recognised in Mainframe Display

The $ is a special character that does not translate. If you use %24 it will translate to $ on the host.

LIVE connection

Use the ethernet connection. Make sure that you reboot the router if you're using one and that there's a link light on the router on the port where the xbox is. If you have a computer, use it to make sure your connection's dns is properly configured. use the computer to connect to to make sure.

i have the same problem trying to connect to mainframe computer from home.
i got ws error 05a8 , can not connet to the host at port 10023.
please help.We tried everything we could disabling firewall, spysweeper, allowing pop ups, reinstalling the software. We contacted our computer administrator at work and the ip, port are correct.

When trying to refresh a Business Objects error... DMA0007

If changes have been made to the universe it may well be that in Deski you're using a local copy of it,
I would first advise exporting the universe to the repository (cms ) and having another go in Infoview just to ensure that the same copy of the universe is being used.

If it still fails, you will need access to the Business Objects server as it could well be that the connection on the server is either missing, incorrect or using a different version of middleware.

The fastest way to check on the server, is to launch Deski directly on the server and import the report > refresh it and see if you get the error.
If so then we know that it's a connectivity issue.
