I have one of those
I have one of those back to basics blender express machines and it will not come open. i've run hot water over it and cold water but the thing is the seal ring was missing but it still closed so i closed it and blended something in it and now it won't come open.

- ive tried tapping it with things, i banged it on the ground and hard surfaces and that didnt work, about 20 different people have tried to open it. nothing has workedSolution #1

i suggest placing it into a table vice and just crank the hell out of it!

The seal ring probably stopped the blender from tightening to far. It is a good idea to warm the blender but you can also try tapping it with a small piece of wood or similar as you try to open it. I think it may just need a bit more force to get it open. Be aware that it could break - but you can't use it at the moment anyway!

It has the following instructions to remove the jug, Note the "unlock".
1. Unlock the mug from the motor base and then flip the mug
over.
2. Turn the blade base counter-clockwise and remove it from
the mug.
3. Screw the mug lid firmly in place on top of the mug.

- Just a thought - is the blender one of those that has a left hand thread on the blender jug? In other words to undo it you have to turn it the opposite way to normal.Nov 07, 2009
