If your computer recognize the device, try to format it using your WMP...open up your windows media player and then click on the sync tab..then your device should be listed on the left side...right click on the device name and click format..let me know what the outcome is...

Sansa e260 doesn't recognize my 8GB sandisk expansion card

Sandisk sansa e200 series players only allow up to 2GB expansion, BUT with rockbox firmware up to 32GB is available. Only download rockbox firmware if your familiar with transfering and installing files.
Rockbox firmware can be found at http://www.rockbox.org/

Accidental Rockbox file deletion

You will have to find someone with the same make/model and copy there files over to yours. This sadly is the only way to fix it.

Rockbox

1 - since you really did nt delete all of rockbox (you shoud reinstall the whole thing) this will take of the system looking for it.
2 - you will have a dual boot up and a choice of which one u wish
Key Action

Power Start Rockbox
Long Power Shutdown Rockbox
On shutdown, Rockbox automatically saves its settings.

Rockbox has a dual-boot feature. To boot into the original firmware, press and hold the Left button while turning on the player.
