The sound on my HP notebook just stopped. The volume is all the way up. It appears that there are no problems with the sound cards...........but.........it was working yesterday.
1st open your volume control and make sure it is not muted as this is a common error. If not then check the device manager and make sure there are not errors on you audio device. Try updating or reinstalling the drivers for you particular model which can be downloded from HP's site.
If all else fails try a system restore and go back to the day you know for sure that your sound was working properly.

The laptop have no sound at all and when ever I try windows media player i get the error "Windows media player cannot play the file because there is a problem with your sound device" In my device manager, there is no device with the yellow question mark i.e all the devices are installed and o.k. The device for sound in the laptop are; Audio Codecs and Legacy audio drivers and they are all working properly
