Question about Onkyo Audio Players & Recorders

Onkyo 1020F direct drive turmtable will not maintain proper speed

My vintage Onkyo 1020F turntable has trouble in maintaining the correct LP speed. During various times it slows down no matter what LP I am playing. I have tried adjusting the play speed dials but it never brings it up to the speed in which the strobe markings appear to be standing still.

SOURCE: DVD system shuts down during DVD play with various parts of shows

I think this is the answer you are looking for.

Let me know if you need more help.

Knowledge Article C337191 Error: The message PROTECT or UNPLUG shows in the display.
Follow this procedure to troubleshoot when a PROTECT or UNPLUG error is displayed.
IMPORTANT: The top of the receiver must have proper ventilation to keep from over heating.

  1. Reduce the volume level.
  2. NOTE: If the receiver is played at the maximum volume level it may enter the PROTECT mode. Maximum volume listening will cause the receiver to run hot and drain the output capacitors.
  3. If both the A and B speakers are being powered by the receiver at the same time, turn off the surround sound option.
  4. If protect occurs only when using a DVD player, the sampling frequency may be set too high.
  5. NOTE: Some receivers provide compatibility with the higher sampling frequencies through alternate connections. Consult the user manual for specific information.
  6. Ensure the speaker wiring is not damaged and is properley connected to the back of the receiver and speakers.
  7. If the issue is still unresolved after completing all of the troubleshooting steps, service may be required.

Figure out why the TV has so much bass. Look into its audio controls. I'd also consider attaching and listening to the TV-related audio directly and digitally through the Bose from the source(s) rather than through the TV and its questionable electronics.

How do I revive the turntable of this vintage record player? It turns, but slowly. Thank you.

It needs lubrication. If it is a "rim drive" style turntable (as opposed to belt drive or direct drive), you may need to replace the rubber roller. If it is belt-driven, you may need to replace the belt.

The turntable runs great for half the way throw the lp and then it speeds up to a 45 speed

Any infinitesimal change in belt temperature would not cause such a change in speed. The speed of your turntable is governed by an electronic circuit and this is where the trouble is.

The cost of a repair is going to be mostly labor which may exceed the value of the value of the turntable.

Once the needle touches 33 lp it speeds buy the songs

Yes the platter speeds up until the moment comes. 0'5 sec later and then the electronics take over , want you to try quartz activated and after that quartz put out and then you have a pll. try moving the pitch a bit, cause the 1210mk2 aint tables which you want for the good maintainence. if it helps or doesn't , mail as fast as you can

How can we achieve fuel efficiency while driving my car?

Do these these things
-Inflate your tyres to correct pressure or a little over, when cold
-Don't accelerate quickly or rev the engine up , most especially when cold
-Try to drive smoothly in traffic with a light foot, not jerkily
-In cars with small engines A/C will consume more fuel
-Fill up with the least ethanol that is legal, and that your car will tolerate. Consult your driver handbook. Efuel gives less economy
-Don't cart heavy loads around in the car for convenience' sake. Take them out till you need them.
-Don't put roof racks and travel pods on when not needed. These create drag
-On the highway travel at 10% under the limit. Less and you will irritate others, but high speeds increase fuel consumption greatly

Turntable speed erratic

It is likely that grease has hardened and as the gears rotate that grease is interfering with normal operation. Take the unit apart and have a look at the drive mechanism, if there is something in the gears you should be able to see it.
