Question about RCA TH1101 MP3 Player

Inverted Display, faded, and screen goes blank

Tried new batts., and it works for short time. Batt still good. How can I set the screen back to normal? Looks like you would need a mirror to see the words correctly.

If you let it get to much direct sunlight might make it do something similar to that

You have a bad backlight or inverter. The purpose of the inverter is to turn on the backlight. I suspect it's a bad inverter because that is a common problem on most LCD displays and you mentioned it turns on briefly - the backlight lamp is likely good..

hi.. if you carefully check your battery if there's
a depleted side or bulgy appearance...if yes try to buy a new battery.
also observe the charging time in idle mode..( don't use it during charging)
and if it can only be use or short period of time..I strongly recommend you
to buy new batt...pls. rate and vote...good day...

My walkman wont turn on

Not sure if it's the same problem as mine! My battery was ran completly flat and then wouldn't turn on even after being plugged into the computer and hours of it juset sayin 'connecting'. I looked on Sony's website and found this -

Battery is 100% discharged. Therefore, PC's USB with 5V/500mA set up has not enough power to start up the charging process because loading current is greater than the set up, therefore USB is disabled immediately due to sudden current load.
  1. Battery must not be discharged 100%
  2. If it happens then the supplied AC adaptor must be used firstly because it is providing 5V/800mA power. After a couple of minutes the unit can be connected to PC without problem then it can continue the charging during file transfer, etc.
I bought a usb adapter charger plugged it in and its back to normal!

then the charging is automatically goes on

Powering up!

Ok often the Battery will take a Looonnnggg time to charge up especially if real flat... Try leaving it overnight.. and see how ya go after it has been charging all night at least 12hours anyway... else try a replacement Battery/Power supply.. Also to test take Batt out, and connect up to the Wall PSU see if that goes if it does then it is just ya Batt.. else it's either ya Power Supply or Motherboard .. Good Luck

One yr old, i let batt die, now does not seem to want to chg. after a bit the scn goes blank.
Following a tip on another forum, I picked up a Creative wall charger for the Zen Micro. Works just fine with my Zen V Plus and it was only $9.99 ($17 with tax and shipping) off the Creative web site. I like that it has a 5-foot cord. (That little USB cable that comes with the player is a pain.)

Wont power up

Same unit, same problem. I found that when the internal batt is dead current draw on the USB port is not enough to recharge. I have a USB car adaptor (it is for my kids PSP ) and use it to recharge the batt when it goes completly dead. I keep a eye on the remaining batt life and charge it via the computer USB before it gets to low

OK it may be the Battery ensure it is "Fully Charged". Take Batt out and replace it again, sorta to "Reset it". If the Batt is OK and it is still "Faulting" then return it to the manufacturer for repair/replacement.
