You could have damaged the speaker, try another speaker or buy a volt meter and check the speaker ohms. You could also set the meter to read A/C voltage and put each lead to the positive and negative speaker output on the amp and see if the amp is outputing any voltage. Hopefully it is just the speaker and not the amp.

What amp would be better to use with what speakers/sub? I have a KAC-7202 kenwood 920W maximum power (150wX2 RMS, 4ohms) (230wX2 RMS 2ohms) and then the other amp I have is a Alpine MRP-M500 mono power...

I'm using that Alpine right now for 2-12" subs and I have compared it to 6 or 7 other amps this month and most were 4 channel 150Watt/Channel Bridged to 300Watts x 2 and found the Alpine to be superior in both sound quality and loudness. The Alpine has also not turned off even with full volume for hours at a time, Very solid amp I was very surprised due to it's size!

I usually run an extra pair of RCA's when I do an install. This way if you have a problem with one you're already set or if you upgrade you won't have to tare you car apart again.

My alpine v12 turns on but no sound

no you don't have to hook up both of the power terminals. but should have it hooked up so you get the proper power to the amp. use a disubution block with two 8 gauge wires.

do you know if the radio's rca jack's are good? have you ever had another amp in the car? if it worked before try new rca's from the radio to amp. recheck all connections from amp to speakers and make sure no wires fell off.

Alpine pdx 1.000 keeps cutting out

You are going to want to make sure all your power wires and grounds are 4 gauge as well as the wire leads to and from the capacitor-4 gauge also. make sure you have a very good ground - the power wire from the battery should hit a distribution block-from the dist. block a 4 gauge should go to the capacitor another 4 gauge to the mono amp and another to the 4 channel amp -every component should have a good solid ground even if you have to bust out a grinder and a drill and some self tapping sheet metal screws and go nuts on it- see if that helps you

Amp makes noise. I am purchaseing a new amp

Hello termite440,

A mono amp will generally provide more power for subs. And for those Audiobahn's, you'll want something that will provide a minimum of 500-600 watts RMS to each, a least a 1000 watt amp. At the low end, something like the Alpine MRP-M1000 or the Orion HCCA-D2400 will provide 1000-1200 watts. I'd recommend the Alpine. For more power, and another $100, look at the Alpine M2000, or for another $250, the Rockford-Fosgate T1500-1bd.

Hope this helps.

Adjusting wattage on kenwood kac 9103 class D mono amp

That amplifier is 900W x 1 @ 2ohms.
If your subs are 4ohm SVC wired Parallel, resulting in a 2 ohm load, each sub will only see 1/2 of the rated power. (450W ea.)
Your gain (sensitivity) setting should be between 75% and 85% to max. You will be fine.

How to unlock my alpine mono power amplifier mrd m500?

Hi. If you shorted (touched) the speaker wires together, or let them touch the chassis of the car, then it may have locked out. Just turning the amp off and back on will fix this, so it sounds like you have done damage to it. Most amps have a speaker relay which gives a click sound when you turn on. If there is no click, then it may have a power supply failure.
