Samsung HCM4215W convergence problem

I go to the menu, under funtions, convergence, then i select red or blue (right? the green doesn't move if i remember correctly). it brings me to a screen that has cross hatches on it and i am suppose to move with my remote, to match up the crosses. they don't move at all.

I'm pretty sure...and no, they don't move at all. in the manual it says the perfect focus won't move if the dtv 480p (or something) is on...what does that mean? How do i find that?

iS THERE SOMETHING ELSE IT MAY BE CALLED? I DID A WORD SEARCH FOR RESOLUTION. CAME BACK WITH 0 FINDS.

Okay, that IS my problem. I went to deomonstration and it said i was in 480p whatever the heck that is. I have NO IDEA how to change that. It said when dtv was hooked up (also dont know what that is) it would automatically go to 480p. How do I change that? If I can change that, I can use perfect focus.

My manual does not say how to get out of that.
