I have an Kenmore HE4t washer that drains into a standpipe in the
wall. I was having the F02 error code the other day and pulled the
hose out to see if it was clogged - it wasn't but it was covered with
gross stinky slime/mold. The standpipe is 37" off of the floor and the
washer is on a pedestal. The hose was inserted as far as it would go
into the pipe which was more than 3 feet! I am trying to figure out if
I should cut the hose shorter or just let it all hang out in the back -
seems like a lot of excess hose to me - I am leaning toward cutting it
off. The manual states "do not force excess hose into the standpipe."
I should also mention that it was Sears who delivered and installed the
washer and dryer. I called Sears and the only guidance they had to
offer about the hose was that I go on-line to find the answer. BTW, after finding this site, I
fixed my F/02 problem by cleaning out a huge hunk (4 years worth) of
dog hair, paper and other gunk from the filter - disgusting!
