Yeah vista does have a few bugs to work out,
fortunately not everyone will have the problem you are having, its caused ny your video driver, you can try updating it,

another solution is to install a 3rd party player like power dvd

cheers :)

I was playing with settings on my Zenith xbv342 and set the menu to progressive scan. I now have a blue screen with the words "progressive scan mode" I cannot get a picture and it is stuck in this m

Progressive scan mode is used by DVD players to artificially scale standard resolution DVDs to HD resolution, usually 720i. Is your set capable of receiving HD resolution? If not, that is probably why you are getting the blue screen.

Play dvd

Usually a window will pop up and ask you if you want to play it.

Easiest fix is to restart the computer.

If a window doesn't pop up then click on MY COMPUTER on your desktop. It should list your hard drive, your dvd drive, and any others. Just click on the dvd drive.

Have you played dvd's on it before?
Is it giving you an error?
