Playing dvd it cannot play certain dvds. it asked me to reduce resolution ans colour. did it and still no progress

Yeah vista does have a few bugs to work out,
fortunately not everyone will have the problem you are having, its caused ny your video driver, you can try updating it,

another solution is to install a 3rd party player like power dvd

I was playing with settings on my Zenith xbv342 and set the menu to progressive scan. I now have a blue screen with the words "progressive scan mode" I cannot get a picture and it is stuck in this m


Progressive scan mode is used by DVD players to artificially scale standard resolution DVDs to HD resolution, usually 720i. Is your set capable of receiving HD resolution? If not, that is probably why you are getting the blue screen.

Play dvd


Usually a window will pop up and ask you if you want to play it.

Easiest fix is to restart the computer.

If a window doesn't pop up then click on MY COMPUTER on your desktop. It should list your hard drive, your dvd drive, and any others. Just click on the dvd drive.




Have you played dvd's on it before?
Is it giving you an error?
Do you have a software program installed to play it?
Free player download
Is it a factory disk?
Some older dvd players won't play certain formats especially home-burned dvds.

the problem is that some dvd players only play original dvds an some play mp3 an data disc an etc I think that you have the one that only plays the original dvds

Buy a cheap DVD player under $50 they play anthing.I have a $600 Toshiba Tivo DVR that won't play some DVD s.My $32 RCA plays anything.Good Luck.

if your dvd is ntsc compatable then in your dvd settings menu change from Pal to either auto or ntsc also it might be that your tv needs to be changed in the same way

The 360 will upconvert DVDs to 1080P only through a VGA cable or an HDMI cable.
