Question about Coby MPC895 MP3 Player

Can't transfer playlists

I just got the Coby MP-C895 and have transferred songs to it using Windows Media Player 11. When I make a playlist on the computer all the songs transfer and play fine, but the playlist itself doesn't show up in the designated folder on the player or on the computer. When I look at the player in explorer, there are two folders: Music: where my mp3s are stored, and Playlists: which is empty when I open it on the player and has two .pla playlist files (both measuring 0 bytes) when I look on my computer.
The songs transfer in the right order, but I have no way of just listening to a single playlist.

Hello,

Assuming the player is charged. (For charging always connect directly to the computer, not through a reader or hub).
When buttons on the player do not react, reset the player:
Disconnect the player from the computer.
See that the HOLD button is not engaged.
Gently push the RESET button on the rear side: use a narrow pointed
object, like a paperclip.

Did synchronization of the songs in Windows Media Player fail ?
For transferring songs, check in Windows Media Player:
1. The player is detected in Windows Media Player 10 or higher.
2. Setup the Library / Add to Library: add the location of songs you want to transfer in the library.
3. Create Playlist; give the list a name and put songs in a playlist
4. Sync Playlist: transfer the list of songs onto the player and wait for the message until you're allowed to disconnect.

I have a new computer and need the software for my coby 610MP3 player. What is the download software website? ANd how do I download itunes to this mp3 player for my sons.

Hello,
Go to cobyusa.com for Coby support.
Specific downloads for the MP610 can be reached if you enter MP610 in the Product Search bar.
When you need Coby Media Manager go to the link "fix for MP822" on the support site cobyusa.com: the fix is the Media Manager from Coby, it can be installed for Windows as well as for Mac.

When using other software programs like Windows Media Player 11 or iTunes, look in the help function or internet site for the used program.
For transfers mainly go through next steps:
0. First install and update the software you will use for transfers
1. Running the software program, the player can be detected in the used software program when connecting the USB cable
2. Setup the library in the used program: the location of the media files must be marked to have access to the data
3. Create a playlist: for example put songs in a list
4. Transfer the playlist onto the player: synchronize the list
5. Wait until the data finished synchronizing; wait for the message you're allowed to disconnect, after that you can take out the USB cable

How to get songs back in the coby mp3?

Hello,

On the MP610 you could use either Windows Media Player 11 or Coby Media Manager for transfers of songs.

Next steps are important for adding files onto the player:
1. The player should be detected in the software for transfers, when connecting the USB cable.
2. Setup your library in the software (Add to library): There has to be a list of folders in the software manager, where your music is located on the computer.
3. Create a playlist in the software: make a list of songs, you want to transfer onto your player
4. Sync the playlist onto the player.

How do you make a playlist

Hello,

You can make a Quick Play List for your favorite songs to playback on the MP610, see page 13 of the manual:
http://www.cobyusa.com/files/manuals/MP610_MN.pdf

You can also use the Coby Media Manager for making playlists on the computer and transferring the lists to the player, connecting through the provided USB cable.

I cant get my coby mp 815 to pull up its music manager on my new computer, I pluged it in, but it just plays whats already loaded on it? whats the music manager?

If I was you I would use either Windows Media Player or Drag and Drop your files to your player. If you choose to use Windows Media Player you will have the same functions that you will have with the coby music manager. Here is the following ways to add music and files to your player if you choose the above ways to add music:

**Drag and Drop**
Connect your MP3 player to the computer. Some MP3 players connect directly to a USB port, while others connect to a USB port by way of a specific USB connector that comes with the MP3 player. Open the folder on the computer that contains the music files you want to transfer. This is usually the "My Music" folder; available from the "Start" menu, but it can be any folder where you save your music files. Scroll down to the song you want to transfer to the MP3 player. Right-click on the title. When the options are displayed, click on "Send To." Scroll down the "Send To" options and select your MP3 player. This can be listed as your MP3 player's name or as "Removable Drive." Click on this selection. Continue this process until you have transferred all songs that you want to your MP3 player.
--**Windows Media Player**--
If you have a large playlist to transfer, you may prefer to do it from your media player, such as Windows Media Player. Once your MP3 player is connected to the computer, open Windows Media Player. Click on the "Sync Music" tab. Drag songs that you want from your Windows Media Library over to the "Sync Music" column to create a playlist. Click the "Begin Sync" tab at the bottom once you have all of the songs on your playlist. This action will sync all of the songs to your MP3 player with one click. Disconnect your device once songs have been transferred by clicking on the "Safely Remove Hardware" icon in the bottom-right side of the desktop tray.

Try reflashing the firmware for your device you can find the latest firmware and flashing utilities from the Coby website. Make sure that you back your music up first because when you do this you are setting it back to factory settings.

then follow these instructions to add music;

Connect your MP3 player to the computer. Some MP3 players connect directly to a USB port, while others connect to a USB port by way of a specific USB connector that comes with the MP3 player. I'll tell you why this is happening - playlist from iTunes will not result in proper transferring - use Windows Media Player instead - I heard you can use it on Macintoshes nowadays
