I HAVE AN HP desk jet F4200 all in one when I try to install it with the CD it gets to 96% done and a message comes up saying (a fatal error occured while installing) whats wrong?

are you running Microsoft Vista? I had similar problem and had to get compatible driver from the internet

plz download the drivers from the hp website and check, if the problem is not solved then scan your pc for viruses
