Question about Kenwood DNX7100 Car Video Player

Beginning to regret my purchase discussion

I completed a new install into my 2003 Yukon. After updating the firmware from 1.0.4 (update only worked when attempts were made right after a reset to do update) to 1.0.9, old 60BG iPOD works fine +Video, but the iTouch only audio (not sure if that by design) the BT100 is semi-working with my Samsung SCH-A990 but no Address book functions, and on two occasions now I had to reset the unit to get it to recognize my phone was near the unit and auto select. Rear CAM CCD2000 option (Backup camera), only works if I select through the video select button while in reverse, (park and backup signals are correct and recognized) but not auto switching when placed in reverse. NAV, also no NAV option on main screen (yes I have a GMX30 install too) the XM player (NO SOUND) The NAV directions and turn by turn works fine, but key-press (NO SOUND) options are enabled, and XM volume control do not sound off on change. An feed back is greatly appreciated, Kenwood hasn’t responded to my calls nor my on-line support request.

My dual dvd player starts the movie over after i go over a bump

Bring it back to where you bought it and buy a better name. There may be a firmware update available for the unit which improves it's behavior and recovery. If you're not able to return it, perhaps you can isolate it from bumps by placing it on a piece of foam. I'm sure it may be very frustrating.

Bluetooth audio streaming breaks up on Clarion CX501

This is not a solution but my Nokia Lumia 920 does the same thing. There are several post on the internet all pointing back to the 920 and iphone 4. I think the only link here is the cx-501. Clarion support is playing the blame game and blaming my 920 as the problem.

How I do the firmware update so my i pod will

If you hit up that link, download the ver2.4 firmware, and put it on a disc, you should be able to pop that disc into your deck and let it update automatically. Turn on your car to allow sufficient power so that it doesn't stop in the middle and brick your stereo. It should just eject when you're finished. I think that might solve your problem.

Out of NO WHERE! it says lost gps signal and has my arrow located in the middle of nowhere. if anyone else had this problem and fixed it let me know please!

Just had this unit installed yesterday (9-28-09) and 12 hours later, "Lost GPS Signal"!! I tried the battery disconnect tick, and it worked.......for now. And it was only after this that I was able to get it to accept the Firmware Update. Might be worth a shot, at least temporarily. I would only asume that they'll be able to address this by means of SD Card update soon!

Installed new update to fix freezing problem - created new one

I had the same problem. Mine originally stopped at 23/92 files. Then after a cool night, I started it again in the morning and got 91/92 files loaded before it started to fail again. I left the disk in and after about 20 fails in a row, it finally loaded!!! Recommend you just leave it in there and it should work. good luck

Can the firmware on a in dash kenwood dvd be change

Visit for latest firmware updates. Some of the updates are specific to map software (Garmin for KNA-G510) or bluetooth (Parrot for KCA-BT200) only.

There is an update on ebay and other sites for about $250. Also try the pioneer web site. If this is new construction, it probably will not be available for atleast another year.

Ipod Classic Firmware rollback

Go to C:\Documents and Settings\*your user name*\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPod Software Updates.
Delete the firmware you don't want, in your case it'll be "iPod_24.1.1.1".
Turn off the internet (turn off the router/whatever).
Connect the iPod, then click Restore. As iTunes cannot connect to the internet and get the newest firmware (1.1.1), it will use the latest firmware in that folder, rolling you back to 1.0.2.
