Sharp Aquos 42 in screen was black when we turned it on. Remote will only turn tv on and off, will not control inputs or channels any longer. i think i may see a little white line at top every now and then, but not sure.

I can try to help you with the problem, but you have to clarify the situation a little bit. First of all, give me a model number of your TV, and second of all, do you have anything displayed on the screen?
