CAMCORDER ISSUES

I HAVE A JVC COMPACT VHS CAMCORDER, IT WORKED FINE FOR CHRISTMAS BUT NOW IT SAYS IT'S IN SAFEGAURD MODE,I REMOVE AND REATTACH BATTERY BUT NOTHING
