After descaling my classic, no water is coming out

I went through the first stage of de-scaling - 20 second operation, waited 20 minutes operated the machine again and now no water is coming out of the machine head. Steam comes out of the frother ok.
Before I started to de-scale, I removed the metal filter and cross head screw from the machine as per instructions.
What should I do next ??

  • Anonymous Mar 28, 2014

It turns on and heats up but not much comes out, says de-scale on screen. What does de-scale mean? It has done this in the past but the next day worked fine, it has been two days now.

I have exactly the same problem.
I have taken the whole thing apart and tried descaling the brew head when it was off, by soaking it in descaling solution.
Reassembled ... and exactly the same as before.
ESWorld - Where is the valve in the brew head and what hoses should I check for blockages?
Thanks!

Try running the descale again it is possible that some of the minerals got loose and blocked the valve in the brew head. If that does not work then you will have to open the machine and unblock the valve or hose that is clogged.

Nuova Simonelli Oscar No Steam After Descale

when you descale your machine, how did you drain the water? I think the scale particles clogged your steam pipe. And also if you had put a lot of descaling chemicals, this chemicals can eat up the heating element. If you can remove the heater and check it physically and also cleaning and removing the scale inside the tank will help.

What does it mean to descale my tassimo? the yellow light is on and the screen keeps saying "descale". thanks

In order to keep your Tassimo machine operational at full order, it is important to descale it every three months. Descaling products are widely available from stores that sell coffeemakers and espresso machines. Be sure that the product you buy to descale your Tassimo machine is intended for this specific use only. Mix the descaling product directly in the water container, following the instructions provided on the descaling packaging. Then replace the water container on the machine. Place a large cup or mug on the cup stand, insert the cleaning disc, bar code down and close the brew mechanism. As soon as the AUTO light illuminates, press and release the start/stop button. This will fill the brew cycle with descaling solution. Empty the cup and let the machine stand for 15 minutes. Then open the brew mechanism and close it again, leaving the cleaning disc in place. Repeat this step two more times for maximum descaling effectiveness.

Discard the remaining descaling agent from the water container, rinse it well and refill with fresh, cold water. Clean the machine by flushing water through it in the same manner and emptying the cup as it fills. Make sure that all the descaling solution has been completely rinsed away, and then flush two full water containers through the machine before using it again. Remove the cleaning disc, rinse and refill the water container and your Tassimo machine is ready to use. Also, before you descale your Tassimo machine, always unplug it. Also, never immerse the appliance in water and nor should you use abrasive cleaning products or scouring materials on any part of your Tassimo machine. This method works for most espresso machines, including some of these popular models: the DeLonghi Magnifica EAM3200S, DeLonghi Magnifica ESAM4200S, DeLonghi Perfecta ESAM5400, Gaggia 74507BCN Classic, Krups EA8080 Espresseria Automatic, DeLonghi PrimaDonna ESAM6600, the BC0255 DeLonghi coffee machine and the Krups Nespresso CititZ XN 7006.

• when the tank is empty, the indicator light goes off and another light (looks like a pitcher pouring water) comes on.
• turn the steam knob all the way clockwise and fill the water
tank with clean water again.
• the program of descaling is now terminated and the machine is
ready to make coffee again.
NOTE: if the descaling procedure is interrupted before completion, the alarm is not deactivated and the procedure

IMPORTANT: FAILURE TO DESCALE THE APPLIANCE REGULARLY INVALIDATES THE WARRANTY.

It's blinking de-scale side water holder gets r4eally hot water is not coming out properlywhen u press one of the cup size bottons

Hi,

This is the time, you need to Descale the machine. The simple procedure is :-

Unfortunately, in spite of the best-laid plans of mice and men, espresso machines often get clogged by scale, deposits of minerals from hard water. Scale can cause serious damage if untreated. If your espresso machine's water flow has decreased a lot, it's probably because of scale. Fortunately, there is an easy and inexpensive way to descale your espresso machine.

  1. Obtain some citric acid. You can either order this online or find it in the kosher foods section of the supermarket (usually marketed as "sour salt"). Acid solutions dissolve scale, which is made of calcium carbonate. There are special solutions marketed specifically for descaling, but citric acid works just as well and is much cheaper.
  2. Prepare the descaling solution by mixing citric acid with water (I use two tablespoons of acid and a quart of water).
  3. Put the descaling solution in the water tank, turn on the machine, and run water through the steam wand until the cup is filled, to expose the parts to the solution. Turn off the machine, and leave it for 20 minutes so that the solution has time to dissolve scale.
  4. After 20 minutes, run more water
  5. Run solution through the machine every 20 minutes, until the water tank is empty.
  6. Fill the water tank with plain water, and run water through the machine until output water no longer tastes sour. This is important, because excess citric acid does not make coffee taste good.
Let me know, if need further assistance.

Hope i helped you.

How do I descale my Saeco Vienna Deluxe?

Purchase the Saeco descaler. Mix solution accordingly. Pour into water tank. Run a cappucino cup full of water through the wand. Wait about 20 minute and repeat. Do this until all the water is gone in the tank. (Don't run all the water at once!). Rinse water tank well. FIll with clean water and run through the wand. I do this twice just to be sure I have gotten all the chemical out.
