I have a flymo easi-trim electric hedge cutter that has not been used very much. When went to use it gave a loud high pitch squeel, this happened a couple of times before it started-up. But then it would not cut it stopped on even the smallest shoots and would squeal. Is something loose or is it that blunt (it should not be my old one went on for years). please help
when u say not been used verry much do ya mean it's possible it sat long enough for a mouse or two to make a nest inside the motor? LOL. seriously tho it sound's to me like the motor just burned out. Personally I would recommend investing in a gas powered hedge trimmer. they last longer and do the job better plus there's no chance of accidently cutting through the extention cord.

I'm in the market for a hedge trimmer and would appreciate any advice and/or recommendations you may have. One question I have is whether there is a preference for gas vs. electric? I have plenty of available electric outlets near the hedges that are my primary concern.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions/information.
