I have electrical noise coming from the standard stove/oven. When playing music from my Desktop PC to my HIFI i notice it right away. But when the stove/oven is off everything sounds great. What can i do to remedy this problem?

Your oven emmits radiation waves which may distractelectronic components. Check your oven's User's Manual on how far should you oven be from other appliances.

I'm assuming you're talking about a cooking stove/oven in the kitchen causing interference with your computer sound. If it is making enough of an arc to cause eletrical interference on your computer, it could be a bad short in the stove/oven and you should get someone to check it out as it could start a fire in your house. One thing you could check first is to make sure all the burners are turned off. You can pull the heating coils out of their plugins on the top of the stove for cleaning purposes. Take each burner out and check for burn marks on the contacts that plug into the sockets. Clean and re-insert the burners back into the sockets pushing them all the way in and then retry the stove to see if the problem still exists.

- The distance doesn't matter if it's a bad short the electro-magnetic interference can travel. You need to test this first with the oven and then with the top burners and see if they both cause the same effect. There should have been shielding installed within the oven/stove to shield other appliances from the elctro-magnetic radiation. There may be a defect in the stove that is causing this but I would be concerned about if for safety reasons.

it sounds like something isn't grounded properly. try switching your pc to a different circuit.

one problem i know that can cause noise is a flourescent light. if there's one on the stove or in the vicinity that you turn on when you use the stove they can cause noise in a stereo or pc.
