Question about Magellan RoadMate 3000T GPS Receiver

1 Answer

Power pin fell off inside of Magellan Roadmate 3000T

When I went to turn on my GPS, the low power dialogue came on. So I plugged in the charger and noticed no red light or green light dtection for charging. I touched the charger cord evr so slighly and nothing. I disconnected the power cord and picked up the unit and heard a little rattle inside, like something was loose inside. I've only used this GPS possibly thirty to maybe forty occasions. I need it for some upcoming trips next month and wondered can I get it fixed somewhere, possibly an electronics repair place.

I have the same problem, and would like to find a way of making what should be a simple repair, hopefully without having to return to factory. Please advise!

I also have the Roadmate 3000T, and also had the female power port break-off inside the unit. The screen display froze, would not shut itself off and eventually ran down the internal battery. Looking for a local 3rd-part repair center in the greater Seattle area. Thanks!

I have the same problem, no rattling noise, but the unit will not turn on and the red or green lights will no longer come on when I try to charge it. Please let me know if there are repair shops that will fix the problem without sending it back to the manufacturer.

my cobra 8000 gps is having a problem charging because inside the unit the charging plug is loose where can i have this repaired?

I managed to solder my connector back in place. The ground trace broke away from the board so I had to install a jumper to ground. I put RTV on the connector to secure it after the repair.
Worked great for a few weeks until it was dropped again and lost power, something else has a broken connection.

Magellan RoadMate 3000T. When plugged into the cigarette lighter, I only get a little red light in the upper right corner. How do I turn it on? I can't understand their symbols. (it is a hand me down from...

Download the manual from here.

The LED in the upper right corner seems to be a charging indicator, so this means that the power supply via the cigarette lighter seems to be ok.

To switch it on, press and hold the power button for 3 or 10 seconds (depends on the state of the device - whether in sleep mode or off).

Magellan Roadmate 300T, bought new battery but it wont charge.

make sure green light is on the car charger and let it plugged in for awhile, then hold the power button (up to ten seconds) until it starts..if that fails

  1. You have to go get a new magellan roadmate 3000t.
  2. And that will include a manual with it.
  3. Manuals are not sold separatley any more.

power pin probably came loose. If you can open up the unit and re-solder the power connector to the board. If you need more assistance re-post and I'll tell you in further detail. Also, make sure the end of your power cable is getting juice.. flow.. is hot? live? has power to it.
