Check your user manual .. it should tell you the probleme
based on which lights are on. You could have a paper jam, or the toner cartridge/drum may need replacing. Alternatively, some documents need you to press the print button on the printer before they will print.
Because I was getting gray shading on my pages and data was still being printing, I decided to change the toner cartridge. Now the pages are clean and white and all the lights function properly. Most cartridges that are running on empty don't print any data at all or at least print the data at the top of the page and gradually gets fainter sp? on the page. Who would have thought just by changing the cartridge would solve the problem? So glad that's all it was........wasn't excited about having to buy a new printer.
On this printer, the alarm and data lights mean that the toner cartridge is empty. When you replace the toner, be sure to slide the corona wire cleaner across and back. This is the small light blue plastic piece on top of the drum cartridge. You'll see a small arrow in the plastic. Just slide it back and forth once or twice each time you replace the toner cartridge.
i had a similar problem, but my alarm light was "only" blinking. here is what i did (and might work with your printer too):
open the front and take out the drum&toner unit. take out the toner cartridge und put a little piece of paper in the hole (the one you can look right through to the other side) either at the right or left side of the cartridge. put the toner in the drum unit and then everything back in the printer. after that my printer worked and still works fine.
