Question about Samsung HLR5067WX 50" Rear Projection HDTV
TV SHUTS OFF AFTER 4HRS. OR COULD BE 15 MINS. BUT YOU CAN TURN IT BACK ON BY HITTING POWER SWITCH ONCE ???
I am having the same problem. The TV shuts down after a few minutes and I have to turn it back on. Then it shuts down a second time after a few minutes and I have to turn it back on yet again. Then it works fine.
The sales guy thought it may be the bulb so I ordered a new one to install but am not convinced that will fix the problem.
Sounds like the lamp to me. The projection lamps get hotter as
they age and the TVs have a sensor to monitor the temp and shutdown the
TV if it get too high
Projection TV makers charge an arm and a leg for their replacement lamps. They make it easy to do but as a result the custom lamp assy is expensive. The trick is to buy just the bulb for your model TV from any number of us aftermarket sources at a fraction of the lamp price and install it in the old lamp yourself. Really easy.
