Question about Sony VAIO GRX550 Notebook

Here are some snaps for this problem

I am having some graphics problem with a Sony Vaio PCG-GRX550 laptop lately. Unfortunately I dropped it on a table (actually one end was in contact with the tabletop & the other end was hardly 6 inches above the top of the table). I suspect that some chip or connector has been loosened (providing almost no connection) - what’s your opinion on this one. If my assumption is correct then please let me know the solution (detailed). Even if I am wrong, let me know what to do. I am attaching some screenshots for you with this message. Thanks a lot.

I upgrade my sony vaio pcg-k35 to vista but the screen does not fit the screen what graphic or video driver do i use pls.. help me with my problem.. ihave downloaded all the drivers for vista compatability...

go to the following website, scroll down and download mobility modder. you will also need to download the lates catalyst software from ati don't worry that it isn't for your graphics card because mobility modder will change the files. finally follow all the instructions on the dh modder webpage where you downloaded it from and you can't go wrong. i used to have a sony vaio and i couldn't beleive how sony supports their customers after sale. they haven't and probably never will release a driver for these graphics cards. Shame on Sony!

I would like to replace the hard drive in my Vaio PCG-6F1L notebook and can not figure out how to open the case. there is one release I am missing. Bruce

Usually there is a side or a bottom part of the case where you can pop the hard drive out. My best advice is to refer to a manual or sony directly.

Sony Vaio game lag only using fraction of graphics card

Not quiet sure what you mean by its only using a fraction of your graphics card?

If you go in to device manager it will tell you what graphics card you have.

What game is it you are trying to play?

If it is lagging then it suggest that your card isnt powerfull enough to cope with the game.

Have you tried dropping the display settings in the game to see if that helps?

"Burned" DC in power adapter

hi there generally all laptops can be opened more or less in the same way first undo all screws in the back, next you need to remove the panel where the power button is most of them just unclip and come off easily using a flat screw driver, you'll probably find some more screws underneath,if the hinges covers are part of the panel they should come off with the panel if seperate just check for any screws if not they just unclip undo any further screws, next unscrew the keyboard, unplug it, unplug the mouse pad, then the top part of the laptop base should just lift easily, make sure you remove the battery before you start all this, any drives, hard drive, etc hope this would be of some help regards
