I need to remove the CD player.

There's only one screw but it's well hidden
1. At the back of the laptop remove the three screws on the support posts for the screen
2. Open the laptop fully and lift the plastic panel that has the power button.
3. Remove the 2 screws holding the keyboard in place
4. Carefully slide the keyboard towards the monitor and lift.
5. To the left of the keyboard ribbon cable is the screw for cd drive
6. Remove, slide out optical drive, reassemble.

As per the configurations of acer laptops there are 2 screws at the bottom of the just below the CD rom drives, exactly at the left and right ends of the drive. Use a screw driver and open this part, make sure that the bus cable and the SMPS cable is seperated appropriately, then remove the cd player, just like you opened it you can close the bottom layer now

Hello there:
First you will have to remove the strip that sits right above the keyboard this is just clipped in so a small flat tip screw driver is required for this
Next you will see a set of 3 or 4 screws depending on the model remove the screws and you will now be able to remove the keyboard once you have removed the keyboard you will see the cd player now just remove the mounting screws that are attached to it and it will slide out of the housing.
now just insert the new cd player and insert all of the mounting screws and replace the keyboard and then install the screws for this and than reintall the plastic strip that is above the keyboard and you are done YEA YEA !!!
