When I turn the camera on, the view finder is

When I turn the camera on, the view finder is blank or black. When I click to take a picture, it goes through the motions, but the picture is blank/black. I can view my saved photos on the memory card though.

Sounds like a bad CCD sensor. I've seen the same problem in several brands of digital cameras (Canon & Sony). Better off replacing rather than repairing.
