Previously installed this mobo on another computer. Moved it over and added new HD and DVD Rom and Graphics card. System has no sound now, where it previously did. Installed drivers and no errors come up in Device Manager, still no sound. Tried updating sound drivers online, no help. Is it hopeless and I just need a new mobo, or is there hope?

hello, a faint metalish sound is heard on starting my pc. i thought it to be some some loose metal piece (case cover , ...) this is accompanied by a whirring(fan) -like sound. this whirring like sound is heard sometimes long after booting up . tried to locate the source of the metalish sound. removed the case cover, tightened the screws,... .no avail the noise still persists.as for the whirring sound, tried stopping the case-fan,cpu fan to pinpoint the source . again no luck. read it some where here about the possibility of it being the psu fan. could u help ? the system runs fine. heating is not an issue. the new mobo is gigabyte.new processor athlon 4600+ sysytem very silent after a couple of minutes of booting up. power supply 400 watts
my pc reaches as far as the start windows normally or in safe mode and then goes blank. I then hear this whirring noise and by the process of elimination i discovered the source to be a small black speaker connected to the mother board. What could be the problem, i believe the speaker to be like a warning mechanism .
