Question about Dryers
Usually when the thermal fuse goes bad the dryer will not respond to anything but your job will be to remove the back panel and test the fuse with an ohm meter it looks almost like your old glass auto fuses about an inch - inch and a half except its probablly black or gray or any color it will have a terminal on each end test both sides with an ohm meter if this goes bad theres probably a blockage in the vent that can also cause the heating element to die prematurely.
