Printer seems absolutely fine mechnically, prints no problem no jam etc. However the colours have all become very faint, printing red almost become Pink. All the cartridges state they have at least half the volume in them, so it should not be the ink cartridges? im stuck

What the cartridges state is not important. You have to be sure the are not empty. Did you try replacing them?? Gerrit Jan

CANON PRINTER MP560 WONT PRINT IN BLACK

Hi,

This is seems to be weird issue you are facing with the printer. I would like to know what is the application you are trying to print from ? Is it Microsoft word etc ? Try to type something in Notepad and print and check if the black is printed.

If you are able to print from Notepad then probably it there are chances the application you are tying to use is corrupted and might need to uninstall and reinstall

Suhail

All catridges are showing as full or near full but print is very very faint in all colours

From your description the print head is bad, have you tried a maintenance cleaning to see if that might help? sometimes the nozzles become clogged and produce all kinds of problems from faint print to uneven ink distribution.

CANON PIXMA MP810 PROBLEMS - Aghhhhh!! I can

Try this,

scan the document to the computer, then view it using a picture viewer.

You may see that the scan is faulty!

The printer may be printing exactly what it sees!

My printer is printing colour red faintly, the toners are new and genuine. it also takes some times before it starts printing.

Sherry, in all probability it is the "scanner assembly" HP can fix this for $279 in the US using HP Express exchange 1 day ship, this was the result of their active chat. I am having the same problem and am going to dismantle the printer myself to see if I can't clean the scanner mirror myself. If you search the following words on google you will find some info, fading red tones laser jet 2605, one of the first results is a page on the HP site specifically on laserjet printers. I wish I had a quick fix that would help; however, a new cartridge won't help!

My printer is not printing text in neither colour nor grayscale.

Go to Word>>
In new Documents

Type following with Big font size, their respective colour

BLACK
RED
BLUE
YELLOW

Now you will come to know which colour is not printing, in case any problem in nozzel or print head.
Secondly, go to Notepad and try printing somthing from that.

Please try this and provide your experience
