Question about Canon Optura 20 Mini DV Digital Camcorder

"DV IN" blinking

When I insert the firewire cable, the "DV IN" message on the LCD screen blinks. When the "DV IN" message on the LCD screen is steady the film transfers. When the "DV IN" message blinks, film does not transfer. I bought a new cable, but the message still blinks and film still does not transfer.

SOURCE: Archos 605 copying films from DVD to the player

If change the setting of the 605 to "hard disk" then a PC sees the 605 as a hard disc when connected using the usb lead. You can then copy and paste files directly to the 605..

SOURCE: JVC GR-DVP7 - Video to PC / Firewire Cable ... where can I get one?

Best Buy has a 6 pin to 4 pin firewire cable. You will need some software as well to copy to the hard drive such as Pinnacle Studio if you don't have on already.

Once the cable is plugged in and turned on Studio will detect the camera and run the program.

SOURCE: Cannot transfer from camcorder to computer.

Hi,
make sure you are using 4 pin to 4pin firewire which looks like this:

After connecting,
Switch on the Cam.
Open Windows Movie Maker and import video from device.

No sound no screen. power light is steady, NOT blinking, then blinks 18 times and light is steady again. keeps repeating this action..

These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices.

If blinks continue without any pause, the main board is faulty.

I just bought an i- link cable (4 pin to 4 pin) and I cant capture videos using sony DCR- HC35e in windows vista. How do I fix this?

The Camcorder will flash the DV IN message as soon as the i.LINK/Firewire cable is connected to the Camcorder.

If you are getting the DV IN message then it indicates that the Camcorder recognize the connection.

You can use any video capturing software like Windows Movie Maker to transfer the video from the Computer. Open the Windows Movie Maker Application, select the option "Capture" from the File menu and follow the on-screen instruction to transfer the Video to the Computer.

If you are not getting the DV IN message as soon as the i.LINK cable is connected with the Camcorder then the issue may be with either the Camcorder or with the i.LINK cable.

Try resetting the Camcorder or try with different i.LINK cable. Locate the RESET button behind the LCD screen of the Camcorder. (You will be able to locate the RESET button by opening the LCD Screen. The Camcorder should be switched ON when you reset the unit. Press the RESET button using a sharp-pointed object).

NOTE: Resetting the Camcorder will reset the settings of the Camcorder to the factory settings including date and time. It will not delete any data saved in the Camcorder.

If the issue still persists after resetting the Camcorder and with different i.LINK cable then your Camcorder requires service to resolve the issue.

Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Your modem is not synching. It could be a number of possibilities, and you're going to have to do some troubleshooting to narrow it down.
  • Verify that your AC, Cat 5, & ethernet cables are connected securly
  • Verify that your modem is not in "standby" mode
  • Power cycle your modem
  • Try a different cable outlet
  • Call your ISP to make sure your modem is provisioned and your service is set up for cable internet.
