I have a motorola ht600e on the frequency of 446.??? I find that they are not very sensitive, as my ham radio is a lot better on receive I also have one on the ham band this is also very deaf cant hear the repeater even when I can see it have tried tweeking the tuneing inside but no better so are they deaf thank you

- most ht 600e were UHF the ones I have are They are program onto 466.??? and work back to back but have found them not very sensitive one is on the 70 cm band but also found not very sensitive I wondered how they compared to a ham handset thank for your commentsSolution #1

Motorola HT600E is a 99 channel VHF Hand portable Radio
not 446, ( UHF)
Repeater uses 2 sets of Frequency locked with CTSS and DTSS
you need a key to open it. but you can receive it only if you are on the same operating frequency.
whatever frequency the repeater transmit, the receiver is on other
frequency. you need to find that frequency plus the codes and tone.
frequency covers from 440-470MHZ
and might have 12 channels.
sensitivity wise maybe you're also right , but maybe the CTSS is enabled
although you are on the same operating frequency.
have you tried using 15 element Yagi vertical antenna for 70cm?
