Hello hbennett,
When looking at cable TV some of the channels are encoded (arranged digitally) to disallow access to the content on that channel. This is true in the case of encrypted channels, the cable company has taken that channel and through an encrypting algorithm made that channels content inaccessible to you. The only legal way to see that channel is to pay the cable company or content provider for that service (channel). I hope this helps.
Thank you,
Shuttle83

We had the same problem. We bought an HDMI cable and connected our dvr cable box to the tv with it. We were able to get past the blue screen change the input and recieve cable tv again.
