There is a "dew" sensor inside that is preventing the unit from accepting the tape. This is a safety feature to prevent damage to the tape. If there is any moisture inside, the tape will stick to the heads and get damaged. Open up the unit (eject) and point a hair dryer toward the opening with the dryer about 12" away. Let the warm air flow for 10 minutes or so and try the camera again. If that failes to resolve the problem, then either the sensor is defective or the connections to it are defective and the camera should see a servicer for repair.
