Hi Dear,
When ever you insert a SIM into your mobiles. It registers with your network provider. If the SIM is not read by your phone then it is because of corrupted SIM. For this you have to get in touch with you network provider to issue a new SIM. But before this please insert some other SIM into your phone and see if it works. If it does not, then there is some issue with your Phone.
Let me know if this issue gets fixed.
